I live about 100 miles from Sanford so we get even more media coverage about it than the rest of the country. Zimmerman following Martin might not have been the right or smart thing to do, but it was not illegal. This case begins and ends with the physical confrontation between the two. Does the eyewitness and physical evidence presented in court (not the media), support the claim of self-defense? Yes. Please note that I said it supports it, I did not say it proves it. The prosecutor is the one with the burden of proof, and this so far has been one of the worst cases presented by a D.A. that I have seen. The lawyers in the O.J. case were more competent. Have you ever seen so many prosecution witnesses testimony help the defendant like they have here?
So what will the aftermath be? Five white woman and one Hispanic woman acquitting white/Hispanic man accused of killing a black teenager could trigger some unrest. I'm sure when they do the man-in-the-street interviews you will here quite a bit about the jury's makeup.
