This thread grew out of a discussion about the ups and downs of non-revving.
We all know the pains of non-revving--
Checking and rechecking loads
Checking the weather
Checking “the list”
Putting on your official nonrev attire, hoping to get F *wink*
Sweating “the list” and late arriving pax
Doing Olympic sprints between gates to catch that backup
Roundabout routes and being glad you keep that candy bar in your carryon because all the terminal restaurants are closed.
Weight optimization
Being “rolled over”
Full overheads and your bag disappearing “somewhere up front”.
Non-revving through a hub and sleeping on a cot at DFW
Gate agents who never heard of ZED
That middle seat between sumo wrestlers
AND
That low whisper in your ear when Mr. LATE shows up and you have to take that long long walk back down the jet away.
And then there are the joys--
Flying across county just to sing your mom “Happy Birthday”.
Taking a quick flight to SFO because you had a taste for the clam chowder they serve at that little place on the Wharf.
Day trips across country and a great couple days in London because you noticed the loads were light one morning.
Splurging on that cottage with the ocean view and knowing you still came out way ahead.
Thinking an overnight to Hawaii sounds reasonable
All your fellow non-revs you meet at the gate
AND
Deciding where you want to go and not even thinking about the cost.
Joys & Pains, what say you???????
