    Cool Wire walkers at LHR-T5

Since 2008 not a single ceiling light at LHR-T5 has been replaced (lights are 120ft off the ground) and it was getting very dark.
They tried to replace the bulbs using cherry-pickers and hydraulic lifts but “none were deemed to be practical or safe enough”.
Sooo they’ve called in specialists--- Wire Walkers

Makes you wonder how the bulbs were installed in the first place--stilt walkers?

Glad they're using LEDs, that should last quite some time.

But you know? Providing light has been one of the first "selling points" of electricity ever since it started coming into homes. During that time, we've had nonstop flights going nearly around the world, men on the moon, computers that can solve extremely complex problems in the blink of an eye (or bring up funny pictures of cats) sitting in your home, and a whole lot of other things. And yet, we STILL don't have any kind of household solution to providing light that doesn't burn out after a relatively short amount of time. Ok, I'm rambling, but you get the idea. Just seems strange, I guess.

Electricity is really just organized lighting.
