For the past year or so, I've noticed a store here and there called ALDI, like I figured it was some Arabic grocery store with a name like this. I never stopped in to check it out, since I was not in the market to buying pita bread so I though, but the wife the other day told me she read about it in the internet about what a great savings this store was, as a grocery chain, even cheaper than Walmart. At first, I didnt think much about it but I took a walk inside to check it out and it actually blew me away. At first it looks like a chee chee pachi joint, where you gotta pay for cart usag a quarter but you get it back when you return it. Neat concept. Noone to pay to chase down the carts. Then, you either bring your own bags or you pay .06 cents for a paper bag. Ok, so I bought 6 bags at 36 cents....whooopie deal. To make a long story short, 100 bucks of groceries I ended up buying plus some pretty neat fun stuff. Like pretzels in a can, you pull out the dough and bake it after you twist it. I picked up a 16 inch pizza 5.99. TV dinners unbelievably cheap, cereal under two bucks, none of these are named brands. I saw SUPER HOTDOGS, steak beef, chicken, milk at 2.19 gallon, juice OJ or less than 2 bucks. Place blew me away. Got some real food and snacks. I'm going to keep trying out this joint for a while. I understand its a GERMAN chain and all over Germany and GB.
