    Default Aldi

For the past year or so, I've noticed a store here and there called ALDI, like I figured it was some Arabic grocery store with a name like this. I never stopped in to check it out, since I was not in the market to buying pita bread so I though, but the wife the other day told me she read about it in the internet about what a great savings this store was, as a grocery chain, even cheaper than Walmart. At first, I didnt think much about it but I took a walk inside to check it out and it actually blew me away. At first it looks like a chee chee pachi joint, where you gotta pay for cart usag a quarter but you get it back when you return it. Neat concept. Noone to pay to chase down the carts. Then, you either bring your own bags or you pay .06 cents for a paper bag. Ok, so I bought 6 bags at 36 cents....whooopie deal. To make a long story short, 100 bucks of groceries I ended up buying plus some pretty neat fun stuff. Like pretzels in a can, you pull out the dough and bake it after you twist it. I picked up a 16 inch pizza 5.99. TV dinners unbelievably cheap, cereal under two bucks, none of these are named brands. I saw SUPER HOTDOGS, steak beef, chicken, milk at 2.19 gallon, juice OJ or less than 2 bucks. Place blew me away. Got some real food and snacks. I'm going to keep trying out this joint for a while. I understand its a GERMAN chain and all over Germany and GB.

Not bad at all. I liked the crust great generous portion of sauce, pepperoni's and cheese. I'll definately be going back for some more. Would like to try others like the 4 cheese pizza with sausage and whatever is different. MAMA COZZI'S PEPPERONI PIZZA 16". Take and bake. (Bought for 5.99 at ALDI'S.)

Aldi is awesome! They actually have a decent house Rose wine that is good for cooking and drinking. Also the Dutch cookies are tasty..

Yes. I picked up a few cereals. Got the brand flakes, the apple oats, peanut butter puffs, vanilla almond flakes. How can you go wrong at two bucks per box? Today I went back, picked up a few more cool items. Very convenient, don't have to park a mile away deal with floods of humanity. I think I'm sold on Aldi from now on. Not to say I won't hit the others from time to time, but Aldi will definately be a huge player in my grocery agenda.

I didn't particularily run into any Dutch cookies, however, I did see choclolate chip cookies, oatmeal, sugar cookies triple chocolate musse cake, lots of interesting pasteries and donuts. I did pick up a bottle of MALBEC wine from Argentina for 4.99. Not bad for a wine bottle, but expensive considering I've picked up wine in the stores in Argentina for a buck and a quarter.

Shipping and handling fees they’ll get your every time.
BTW, Aldi is the parent company of Trader's Joe's.

I think most here has to do with taxes on alchohol. Even California wine you can't touch a bottle for under 7 bucks. Never been to Trader Joes. I've been to JOE V'S.

Obviously you never heard of "2 Buck Chuck”, Trader’s Joe’s Charles Shaw wine.
Unfortunately last year they raised the price to $2.49.
I bought a couple of cases before the price changed. Cheers!
