    Cool Armrest Wars

As non-revs we all are familiar with the middle seat and the rules of engagement.

The window pax get the wall and one armrest.
Aisle pax get an armrest and the extra leg room.
Middle seat pax is entitled to both armrests.

Unfortunately few pax know these rules so armrest wars take place on every single flight.
Fortunately out of the blue comes hope for us occupants of the middle seat, a new armrest design, one that claims it can settle the armrest wars forever.

The Paperclip Armrest - Paperclip Design- Paperclip Armrest
Now if only someone could figure out how to stop the chatty pax next to me from talking and talking and talking.

Looks like a hook or a J to me. Interesting concept. I just take the back half of an armrest (or front half if already claimed) I have no issue asking pax if we can share. Same thing with window shade.

    Interesting - Window Shade Rules

    Open question to the board-
Who gets to raise and lower the shade?????

Does control of the shade default to who has the window seat; do aisle and middle seat pax have any rights at all?
What about on long haul flights- do you take a shade up/down vote?
What if the window pax can access two windows, does the middle seat pax get to control one, or is the second window just up for grabs?

Like M7, I just politely ask the window seat pax to lower the shade -sometimes I really do want to see the movie.
But just in case, I do always carry my mask, some pax just love to watch the clouds go by.

I usually say something like....."If you don't lower the shade, I'm going to lower the hammer on you."

I wouldn't mind sharing my seat if she's a size "D", about 30-40, and smells good. If the seat is not enough, she can share my lap.

If the seat is not enough I don't think you want her on your lap...

Jumpseats don't have armrests, but they're great for sharing!
