A new mini golf course is in place at the Wilmington International Airport, and it will be there until the weekend of the Wells Fargo Golf Championship.
The Championship will take place here in Wilmington at the Eagle Point Golf Club next May.
Most people who will be attending the championship will be flying to our region through ILM
Officials at the airport say they hope the putting green will attract attention for the tournament and bring people back to experience it.
Wilmington International Airport is the only airport in the state to have a putting green.
Officials at the airport say they hope the green will bring together complete strangers and get them excited for the tournament!
“Who knows who you could meet while putting on the green?” said Carol LeTellier, the Director of Business Development “You might meet a fellow coworker, you might meet the love of your life, or you might even meet your next employer.”
The green was built last month, and will be at the airport for the next year
