Remember when airline commercials filled the airwaves? I got to thinking about them the other day when I heard Rhapsody in Blue playing on the radio. I’m listening to Gershwin music and all I could think about was “Flying the Friendly Skies” - on a side note, does anyone know if they’re still playing Rhapsody in Blue in the tunnel that connects T3 with T1 & 2 at ORD?
At any rate thought I’ll post a few of my favorite airline ads/campaigns through the years.
AA - Post 9/11
I liked this ad for a lot of reasons, not the least of which was parts of it were filmed at LAX.

QF - I Still Call Australia Home
Al-SYD (emeritus Non-Rev Forum Correspondent for Australia/Oceania/Asia) introduced this ad to me. BTW, we never did make it to Australia to visit Al - weight restricted flights (twice), luckily, we had great back-up plans. On our third attempt to visit the land down under - it was - late pax, after that one we just drove back home and never tried for Australia again. Yeah, we finally got Al’s message…. and to think our argument was about beer. I tried to explain I never…. said…. Budweiser was the King of Beers - It Was an Ad.

UA - Rhapsody in Blue
It’s Gershwin and an airplane, that’s all you really need.
