Alaska Airlines hereby requests an exemption to provide seasonal scheduled air transportation of persons, property and mail between Seattle, Washington and Cancun, Mexico commencing 11/6/14. Alaska proposes to operate daily nonstop service over this route using B737-800 model aircraft.At the present time there is no nonstop US carrier service between SEA and CUN. Pursuant to the terms of the United States-Mexico Air Transport Agreement, as amended by an agreement between the two governments dated December 12, 2005. the United States is authorized to designate as many as three carriers for service over this route. Alaska requests that it be granted an exemption and issued one of the available designations so that it may begin scheduled service in this market on November 6, 2014.
