I plan to jet over to HKG on Dec. 7-12. Plan to stay at the Novotel on Nathan Rd.
Does anybody have any suggestions/hints etc.
What's the best way to get to and from airport to Novotel?
Thanks....

taxi is reasonable, pending traffic timing
you can also take train to station w/free transfers to hotels on Nathan
avoid the transfer bus which is shared with many stops on the way (there is a kiosk near the exit area) You also get your Oyster Card there (HK$ only?)
There are several really good links at tripadvisor.com to show all the details of options.
Nathan Road--night market, bird market, so many restaurants (mind the electronics/watch folks there)
Star Ferry, Kowloon riverfront, HK Island, so much to do--so little time!

You can take the airport express which just involves two stops and no transfers, however, it's the pricier option. That's what I did to get back to the airport.
The evening we got in we spent the night at the Marriot SkyCity right next to the airport, the next day we took the free hotel shuttle to tung shun metro station and took the metro into the city (much cheaper). As MRS767 mentioned make sure you get an oyster card, you can use it on the ferry, metro, bus, trams you name it.
Nathan road is a great location it is ideally located right in the middle of all the action on the Kowloon side. Enjoy Hong Kong, it's a great city. How are you flying there?

Catch the A21 city airport bus .. it is slightly slower than the express but the bus stop is right outside the hotel ( the actual entrance to the hotel is on a side street and not on Nathan Road ) and you can use your Octopus card on it. Its a double decker so sit on the top deck and get used to the sights and sounds of hong Kong on your way in to town.
I'm assuming that you are using the airline rate with Accor and so have you looked at the 'Club' rooms at the Novotel as the price difference can often be less than the cost of the breakfast on the standard rate and you get lots of extras ( free wi-fi, happy hour etc )
Just me, I'm doing a "scouting" trip for the Mrs., and 2 "buddy pass" family members....
For the first time in many years we did Not jet away on T-Day. Have you all noticed that on T-Day many, many jets are "wide open"!
How nice! I love this guide--you can kill half a day on HKI if you eat at some of the mentioned stops.

Or just run end to end. Might be tricky to get all 4 on/off quickly if you're on the top deck, but you can mark your stops to catch on the way back.
