The no visa period runs from Jun 1 - Sep 18. Also exempt are Canadians, Japanese and Australians.

I've wanted to visit Brazil but didn't want to deal with the hassle of getting a visa. I think for this summer, I might consider going.

There is a hassle?
We dropped off our passports at the consulate, and had them back with visas in 3 days.
We have been 4 times in 2 years and love it there!
