Colombian authorities have busted a spider-smuggling operation that had stuffed 210 plastic containers with spiders and other insects that were being taken illegally to Europe on a flight out of BOG.
Officials said that two German traffickers were found with 232 tarantula spiders, nine spider eggs and a scorpion with seven of its young, as well as 67 cockroaches.
Video shows some of the insects crawling around a box as authorities examine them. A tarantula can be seen climbing on a wooden branch, while another bug crawls across an official’s arm while they inspect it.
