I've been to many countries in North Africa and the Middle East (Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, UAE, Israel, Palestine, and Turkey). I highly recommend Morocco. If you have questions about that place or any others, don't hesitate to PM me.

You're obviously accustommed to the North Africans.
I've no issue with most Egyptians--many are very friendly and kind.
Moroccans we've encountered on a nonrev trip, on the other hand, were rude, mean and dirty. Men were outright lascivious and several times, physically "grabby". We decided, upon return from our only visit there, to never go back again. Their entitlement for baksheesh went way beyond the expectations and demands of the Egyptians I dealt with in 2 visits.
Let the French and Brits go there for cheap holidays.
I agree with you about Jordan--lovely people and Petra is worth more than one visit.

Yeah, I'm a guy so my experience may have been different at least partly for that reason. Gender mistreatment is oft-cited issue for travelers in that part of the world.

Aside from the leering at me and occasional groping in crowds, my husband made it clear 2 days before we left there that he would never set foot in the country again. The male French ex-pats were just as disgusting toward women.
