    Default Cozumel Guest Houses

Lovely morning here in Cozumel. Just hanging out at the palapa by our 2nd floor room at Casita de Maya. Took a lot of deciding where to stay. This one is a very short walk from the airport (airport taxivan cartel is PITA); easier to walk here and do reg taxis at will, or walk to local joints.
We got a big king room, large shower and bathroom (beaded curtain leaves one exposed whilst on the throne but we're married)...the AC is great and they have a decent pool--about 8X25'. Only 6 rooms (one on the way). House mascots are a really tired old cat and one very scruffy old little cur. Love the place! They are building a bar next to our room under the palapa and it's a great place to do wifi for now.
They offered us a special rate of $99 tax incl (instead of $119+11%) You can see more on their website or w/tripadvisor reviews. Plenty of lower priced accommodations similar but all require taxi into town. We're off to Megastore for goodies to have poolside (I'm only good for 2 beers--prefer other sources of libation!)
Doing nothing else today and that suits me fine. Off tomorrow to an all-inclusive (they offered a 4 nt stay to try to change my mind--and reviews--from last visit. We'll see...
    Hasta la vista, Babies!!

I will be in the area (sort of) in a few weeks. Going to the Riviera Maya area with 9 other family members for a week at an all inclucive (including airfare-no non-rev). Will be very nice to just sit pool/beach side and drink for a week. Sounds like it will be a hot time of year but no problems with water around.
    Enjoy your time down there.

That's sacrilege!! Today is Derby Day!! Cinco de Mayo is our anniversario and we celebrate Monday.

Offroader--which AI in Riv Maya? That's usually our preference but the next 4 nt stay is on the house due to a previous issue.
Have fun, y'all! BTW--have a julep for me! I'll have a margarita for you guys!

Going to be at Barcelo's. Other who are going have been there before and think they have the better beach in the area. A few who are going head out once or twice a year to some beach all inclusive between Mexico and the Carribean. I tried to get them interested in Columbia, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, El Salvador or S.E. Asia to try something different But they wanted easy/convienent and something they knew. Maybe next time.

2 adults? Coz will set you bakc $150 taxes/fees but that's payroll deduct so I never see that part. You can do reg room at Casita de Maya for about $75 I think. Or if you can wait until I get back on Fri, I have notes for cheaper guest houses in town. Taxis run 3-4$ OW or do cheap eats near Casita. Not sure about Htoel zone but CUN is same for air--lots of flt options tho.

Mi Casa en Cozumel. Email to Memo about Limon room.

Also Villa Las Anclas has good rates--weird spiral staircase, as I recall, but good location and small pool.

    Hope that info helps.
