UA expands VIP baggage delivery option..
United Airlines has expanded its new baggage delivery option, enabling customers to skip baggage claim upon arrival and have their checked bags delivered directly to their final destinations – within 100 miles of their arrival airports. Baggage Delivery by BagsVIP is now available to customers departing from any domestic airport and arriving in 36 cities including RNO,FLL and PSP. Prices are as follows within a 40 mile radius.
1 bag $29.95 2 $39.95 3-8 $49.95
I clicked on the link because this was something that might interest me in the future. This fee is in addition to the checked bag fee. I knew it seemed too good to be true but I can see there would be times when I might use this type of service. I wonder why it isn't being offered by more airlines?

Donna, I think it's a great idea. Imagine coming home from say SYD to SFO. Your tired and jetlagged. You hit the curb, flag Supershuttle and within an hour or so, your bags are at the door while you are sipping on a Napa Syrah...
That is exactly what I was thinking. I have taken trips where I simply don't want to deal with luggage so this service would be perfect. I would think this would be popular amongst cruise passengers and elderly folks. Maybe we should look into this in Anchorage and Vancouver at AS.

That's ultimate laziness in my opinion. Comon. You can't take your luggage with WHEELS and roll it to your car? I can see skipping the Baggage claim part but it doesn't take that long either. Save the 30 bucks and go have a nice getting back dinner somewhere.
