    Default U.S. Airways buddy passes

I have the option to sign up with U.S. Airways flight benifits. I will most likely get them so I could have them as a backup in Europe and Costa Rica.

But one thing that could edge me more towards signing up is what the cost of buddy passes are.

I have Delta and United benifits now and would like to compare the cost of buddy passes.

If someone could send me a couple of buddy pass prices so I can see if they are better/worse than Delta/United I would appreciate it.

Maybe one between ATL and CDG as both U.S. Airways and Delta fly that route and MKE to PHX as I have friends in MKE that would like to get down to Arizona this winter.

    Thanks

    Tony

I'm guessing you're a OO employee? Sorry I can't help, I'm in the same boat of question(s) as you.

Yup, him and I are both Skywesters. Personally, I wonder if the number of buddy passes we get are based on segments or you can have connections on a single pass. I know NW (and I think DL) had one-way passes that could have as many connections as needed, while a buddy pass from my home airport to ORD-IAD-MAD and back would use 6 of our 24 segments right away.

Employees (Express, at least) get 16 passes per calendar year. Each pass is good for "one way" travel with up to 3 segments-- beyond 3 segments requires another pass even if travel is continuous. Price is charged based on origin/destination, not per-segment.

Rates range from $50 for short haul to $80 for long haul domestic US/Canada/Mexico/Caribbean. Travel to/from Europe, Israel, Hawaii, or South America is $200. Taxes are not included, so add about $10 for domestic, and plus or minus $60 for international.

I'm a Delta Airline employee, how can I get flight benefits from the other carriers even for a low cost?
What's my option on local and international ?

See your airline's travel agreement. They all are different.

Usually you can only get ZEDs for each segment you take. I think some airlines have deeper reciprocity agreements (I could swear I heard something about AS and HA giving each other free flights). The reason that we suddenly had the ability to get US benefits is because we work for SkyWest, which does flights for UA, DL, and AS already, and when it started a contract with US, they were generous enough to offer full benefits to all employees, even if we don't touch the US product. UA does the same thing (though there is a yearly enrollment fee for non UA-dedicated employees). DL and AS only gives full benefits to those that actually work on those flights, so because I work at a UA-only station, I can only get free DL and AS flights operated by SkyWest.

Go to the deltanet website and start with employee connection--just work thru all the links and pull-down options.
We have zed tickets (see article here on forum) and ID % off tickets available. Many of our zeds are e-tickets now.
Give yourself and hour or two to play thru the options. You can start bookings and opt out at the end to actually buy a ticket, just to get the $ and schedule.

Mostly standby, but DL has some confirmed ticket options w/discounts.
