Craig, we are going to cruise on Orient line in late Oct from Barcelona to Cape Town or Mombasa. We've not been to Africa at all, so we're pretty excited. I would assume safe for Amerians now?

Ports in Africa are Walvis Bay, Cape Town (for 2 1/2 days), Durban, Richards Bay, Zanzibar, and Mombasa for 2 days. We have not decided for sure if we will continue on from Cape Town to Mombasa or stay some extra time in Cape Town. Best non-rev route to fly out of Mombasa or Cape Town?

My husband works for UA, but of course they don't have any flights there.
Suggestions for spending at least two days in Cape Town? Best place to try a Safari? Economical suggetions? Hotel suggestion in Mombasa and Nairobi.

What kind of weather should we be prepared for?
