seems that Alamo and National have the cheapest weekly rates for a car (either economy or compact no air) are they available for pick up anywhere other than at the airport? I will be in Cape Town for about 10 days in Feb. just need it to run around in and visit..will hardly put on any mileage..do they have pick ups for eg. in Claremont, the Wharf or just the airport.? or can you suggest another company that has excellant rates for non revs.

Hi Jeannie...I am getting ready to go to Cape Town too...not going until March though. You mentioned Claremont, which is where my friends live, I will ask if they know of a car rental agency off the airport property,etc. Are you staying in a hotel? I ask because I am looking for an inexpensive place near Cavendish Square,

I am staying with family in Tokai.
I did get a fairly good deal with Alamo, which is called National down there, managed to book it in the USA and get a discount (Airline)
