Thanks for the info about Qantas...while my airline does have an agreement with them, I currently have a prize letter on Air NZ that I would prefer to use. Actually the AA/WN agreement is ZED Medium. As Nick points out, you must ticket using the conditions of the operating airline. The AA codeshare flights to Australia/New Zealand are operated by QF, so your agreement with QF would apply.
