I'm looking to get to Bali later this month. What airlines serve Bali with non stop flights and where do they originate?

Heh, I feel like a broken record here (just did the same thing in another thread, but for another reason) but if you check the wikipedia page on the airport, there's a pretty good list of airlines and destinations from that airport. I'm assuming you're thinking about DPS in this case: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ngurah_Rai_In...nd_destinations

we went LY end OCt--rather Hot/Humid that year but great loads
Used DL ATL/NRT, frequent flyer seats Korean Air NRT/ICN/DPS
returned KE DPS/ICN day room for rest and ICN/ATL
It is a really long trip for nonrev
Don't know your contracts for zeds, etc
Don't know your gateway but I will be happy to pull up my fabulous stash of info (some from my nonrev brain, some from files) and pass along my knowledge to assist

I will recommend luxurylink.com for some incredible 3-5-7 night pkgs, as well as some smaller places outside of the main tourist areas.
It's a very small island and such wonderful people. Drivers are abundant but I have some personal recommendations if you need them TripAdvisor has TMI but good source if your sort thru it. Keep in mind most travelers go frequently, so if you want advice on a one-in-a-lifetime experience vs drinking on the crowded beaches with all those whacky Ozzies (no offense intended--it's the fave cheap vacation from what I can tell) I can help. We plan to return next year (it's that good!) but so far away...

You mostly have to connect somewhere halfway plus--westbound is still best option.
Lemme know if I cna help more.

I'll take any info you can give. We are a UAL family so we are planning to go next week, ORD-HKG and spend a day or two there. After that, an ID90 on cathay (doesn't look like they do Zed's) will hopefully take us to Bali. We are a couple with two kids, 13 and 14, still looking for ideas on a place to stay. I don't want the drunken aussie on a crowded beach experience, but with the kids we can't stay at a zen retreat up in the hills either. Any ideas for something on a beach? Do you need a car there? I looked at luxury link but nothing seemed too appropriate for us. I have a work friend that mentioned it to me and he was very happy with what they had found.

Leaving we are going to try and go to SIN and spend a day or two. From there, back up to NRT on UAL and then over to HNL for a few more days of sun. After that, back home. So far, all of the loads make it look pretty doable.

I've looked at Trip adviser some but would love to hear your recommendations and suggestions
Thanks!

I did not stay here, but Candi Dasa is supposed to be a lovely beach town.
We stayed in Ubud and everything is accessible. I didn't find the beaches to be a big deal--they are not tropical; typically tres gritty/rocky. We stayed at Royal Pita MAha (way up the river gorge--very upscale) Drivers w/cars are $40/day, so you can spend a beach day, see the hills/rice paddies anotehr day. The farthest reaches are palces like Amed (not for first-timers unless you have lots of time) but I would happily go back to stay at poincianaresortbali.com--it would have been a better choice than Amed for us (remote small village area)
We went to Benoa Novotel and if you cna get suite/villa at a price, it's a nice beach area south of airport and major temples. Don't miss the Balinese culture/dance rpograms--fascinatiing!!
Loved Ibu Oka pig restaurant in Ubud--very famous hole in the wall--pork to die for!!
Do not miss massage/spa day--if you have to duct tape the kids and go alone, go--it's the best bang for your buck! Thye may like it too--it's so cheap for a whole family at some of the small places
Elephant park would prob interest kids--whitewater rafting, too. Drivers can give you volcano/mt tour or bike tours. BARGAIN for drivers and such but obviously don't cheat them--they are such a lovely charming people. Watch your exchange--I recommend ATMs for most $$ needs. ASk more as needed.

oh--if you haven't been to HKG before get the Insight guide HKG--awesome book and kids will like pics/pull-out map etc.
I loved the HK side--city is user friendly--but HUGE! I stayed Bishop Lei Hotel, Robinson Rd--got Bus pass, had fab corner room way above harbor/skyscrapers (set up hillside) Dim Sum for Bfast, and commuter harbor cruise, the escalators are outstanding experience.
Garuda Airlines flies HKG/DPS direct, yes? do you have deal w/them? We're doing HKG next yr w/merger NW routes for DPS--better than KE. WHat a pain.
PS--Sanur Beach is also a nice area of Bali--may want to ck it out.

My wife and I have both been to HKG dozens of times. It's been one of our routes for the past twenty years and one of our favorite places to go. Going to be different to see it as a tourist. We want to show the kids some of the places we go when we head to work. Looks like Garuda does do HKG to DPS as does Cathay

Yeah our agreement with UA sucks... ID90. We only just got a ZED with DL. I'd love a ZED so I could do HKGORD.
Let me know if you want me to check CX loads. I wouldn't chance my life on Garuda... but that's your call.

Well,Pilot, I'm coming back to ask you for updates and more info when we go! I have my eye on the Langham Place suite deal at luxurylink. It's a good price and I have $250 off that
