    Default TSA pre-check

I couldn't believe it. I got the security clearances, I got the airline job, I had Final secret clearance in the military, honorably discharged, and twice, wife gets the TSA PRE-CHECK. I had to go through the line and take my shoes off like everyone else. How in the world does this compute? A mistake in the system? Come to find out, her hotel paid for her to have it done???? WTF ?????

Which hotel? I've never heard of that before. My parents (especially my mom) and father-in-law seem to have great luck with that, but I've never had the luck yet. I really should enroll us in NEXUS - gives you precheck, global entry, and that passport card thing I'll probably never use.

Three trips in a row I’ve gotten the pre-check logo. I’ll admit I’m getting use to breezing through security - no hotel either.

It used to be a program you had to sign up for, but if you were enrolled in something like Global Entry (expedited customs) or Nexus (passport card for Canada and a few others) you could get access to precheck as well. Or if you're feeling lucky (how was Vegas? ) you may be "randomly" selected to get it on your boarding pass.

Are you saying that anyone can be randomly selected on their boarding pass regardless of signing up for Nexus/GE or whatever other expedited BS is out there?

I see they do this for active duty military FREE and civilian DOD workers. They just use their CACS ID card. This is great. Only, they need to do this for VETERANS sort of like they do with the concealed gun license fee here in Texas. If anything, at a much reduced fee. Some veterans are complaining about a fee at all. Nothing is being done that I know of for disabled and purple heart recipients. I'm going to propose this if it hasn't to the next American Legion/VFW conventions if it hasn't all ready.

I'm not sure what happens in the background (probably some checks made) but... yup. That's about it.

I don't know what other kind of information they need out of me. Working in the airport has the tightest security for gaining a badge I've ever dealt with aside privileged access to a military instillation. Gaining a U.S. Custom's badge is downright tedious and lengthy. I don't see the non-sharing of info between airport employees with security badges and global entry. Makes zero sense, but such is typical in government.

So all in all, I view this as a money making operation. Security has little to do with it and they know it. Anyone can go bad including veterans airport employees and those that pay for expedited services. Point closed.

Well, the ball is rolling. I didn't know this until searching around "Make sense legislation"....finally glad someone had some common sense. At least the wounded and disabled can get the expedited services via TSA.
