Delta S6 -- Eligible for Upgrades?
Good morning, I work for a cargo carrier and we're eligible to travel on S6 standby on Delta. Those are the last available seats, if I remember correctly. A quick question: Are S6 passengers eligible for upgrades into first or business class on international fights? I'm just curious. Many thanks in advance.
I think that DL may have upgraded OAL nonrevs a while back, maybe unofficially with a nice gate agent, but apparently it doesn't really happen anymore, from what I've heard.

I travel internationally alot and I haven't seen it in a year or more. When I monitor flights, OALs are assigned coach. I don't know what S6 priority is--it doesn't show oon our code list. I'd call reservations and ask them, since it's an "S" code, you might be eligible. Maybe it's a special deal for your company.

Also keep in mind even if you are eligible for upgrading, you are the last to be cleared with priority "S6" which is after all the medallions (elite fliers), other non-revs and buddy passes, so the likelihood of even an open seat in bus or first class would probably be remote. I mean as a gate agent myself at a somewhat busy airport for Delta, I rarely can clear S4 buddy passes in first.
