Hey all!! I'm new to Delta and I have been wondering, when employees have to fly somewhere for training, what kind of training takes place? Is it similar to "New Hire" training or is is more hands on?
THX!!

I heard they make you sit in a grey plastic tub and follow the journey of a suitcase thru the conveyor. Then you get the surprise lav juice treatment. Then you're shown 2 hours of endless loop of the youtube baggage snafu "United Breaks Guitars"--with continual play of the songwriter's (Dave Carrol) 2-part lament. Then you spend 1/2 hour looking for Eli or Sophia's car seat and stroller, which never got on the flight. After that, you beg to work for reservations where you get verbally abused by faceless customers.
Welcome---I'm totally sarcastic and most of us are relatively harmless.
We're really good at nonrev stuff. Good luck!

Wherever you go, there you are
Almost all classroom. Might do a little bit of hands on, or maybe a little tour, but you almost never leave the classroom.
Though, something I don't think was designed to be "hands on" that I really enjoyed was my first day w/ Comair. Back then you would fly to CVG for orientation, and as such, I was able to see the entire process from the customer perspective. I think I gained a lot from that experience....plus it was really neat to drive under all those widebody tails on the bus from the bustling concourse C.....Seems like a long time ago..
Boy that sounds fun..gotta love classroom stuff... but regardless it should be fun just because it has to do with airplanes and airports! To answer your question, ColoAvs19, I have had a bunch of family who has been a part of the aviation world so I decided to continue that in some way! Thanks all!
