DL Bumps Up Sesasonal JFK-YVR 3 weeks..
DELTA Airlines is moving up the original seasonal operation, JFK-YVR 1x daily service, from 5/22/14 - 9/1/14.
DL will utilize a Boeing 737-800 aircraft. NOTE: THIS COULD BE A NRT - EAST COAST RETURN ALTERNATIVE. (NRT -YVR - JFK)
FLT#2515 JFK 7:30pm – 10:56pm YVR
FLT#2514 YVR 10:30pm – 6:29am+1 JFK
Another salvo fired in the battle with Alaska Airlines ?
With the timing of the flights it is going to require two aircraft to service the sequence instead of a turn around service with just one.
Instead of having aircraft sitting around at each end idle this works in that respect.
It may be a problem with crew logistics - 5 and half hours WB and 5 hours EB - FAs OK but pilots would be
pushing the duty time envelope.
So this is a great deal for us non-revs.
Gives another set of options to get from A to B albeit via YVR (a near miss for SEA)!
