Default Any experiences flying out of Santiago Chile (SCL)?

Just curious if any one has any experiences nonreving to and fro SCL. I was thinking about an early August sojourn. Payload optimization has me a bit nervous -- but that's what makes this exciting!

My nephew did it 2X over the past 4 yrs. he flew S4 and got DLOne both times. I guess you have to just watch the history and seasonal reversal for temps/travel to US.

That's good to know. I've been looking lately and for toady SCL-ATL flight's Airport Standby List looked pretty wonkey... i.e. it looks like some s2s got left behind in favor of s3bs... but maybe it was payloaded opt'd and they thought the two retires needed to get home before them! Just need to make sure I have a good few days to cushion anything (like always!).

I always wonder about that kind of disparity. Maybe a young child on w/adult and PO was for coach. Or they never showed at the gate? I see same S2s are listed for today. Then again maybe GA screwed up the seating? I thought only CDG screwed pax out of rightful priority! (they did that to me twice not long ago).
My nephew is very flexible on S4. I watch and tell him to MOVE IT!! when necessary. Once, I called him in FLA and told him to get his butt to DAB now, since next few days looked poor unless he wanted to fly coach...

We did SCL via GRU also. GOL treats us so nice too!
Biz class was iffy for SCL and GRU was 30+ open up front.

CAVET - during the cruise season plan your travels carefully for a few days around the embarking and debarking of ships with more than enough capacity to fill a half dozen airplanes.
The peak high cruise times are in the winter months (northern hemisphere). The Cruise ports are EZE Buenos Aires and SCL Santiago (Valparaiso).
Typical length of the cruise is 14 days. Best to be on a confirmed revenue ticket. The usual SPAV Business class seat may be out of the question with oversales in coach; high rollers in
suite class accommodations or simple cruise/airfare combo deals between the airline and cruise ship line.
    And as usual YMMV
