NO, forgot about that, so we'll bring $$$$. May do AMS instead?.....Or say longer down in Chile.
I'm glad the reminder helped!! I would totally freak if I forgot a little detail like that on arrival. $260 is a hefty surprise! I don't think my husband would be amu$ed with me

At $260.00, we'll plan on a longer stay down there. And now I understand leaving the UK can be expensive?
fees:
AMS $50
CDG $85 we have yet to have this deducted (it seems to be complicated due to system diffs and nonrev activation is manual)
LHR $140
PRG $35 (I vote for PRG!!!)
PSA $20
BUD $40

Your timing is off. They just had an earthquake, shattered some windows and knocked out power. 8.8 magnitude, off the coast. Some Tsunami warnings from Chile up to Peru, Ecuador, Colombia and Panama. Kind of lay low for now till they get power back up bra.
Ok. Just woke up seven hours later, I guess those tsunami warnings have extended way across the Pacific to Australia, Hawaii, Japan and all islands in between. I see Cali and Oregon getting in on some wave action possibilities. BAD STUFF bra!
It'll be AMS in May...
Looks like you changed your mind, but if you do go to Santiago here is what I can tell you. The "visa" was $100USD for US citizens, payable in cash and they have an ATM that spits out USD near the counter. I'm not sure if its good for 10 years or the life of the passport. They said life of the passport, but its just stapled in the back, so I'm going to try swapping it over when I renew mine.
As far as hotels go we stayed at 2. The first was a small, cool place in a neighborhood called Hotel Los Espanoles. The other was a large business style hotel, it was nice and the staff were great, but it was the same as any hotel like that anywhere else. I'll see if I can find something that says the name in my files.
This info is from a trip 2 years ago, and they have just had another large earthquake today, so please verify before booking anything.
