It's some time since I was in Glasgow so cannot really advise - I went to see some bands at King Tut's Wah-Wah Hut <a href="http://www.kingtuts.co.uk/" target="_blank">http://www.kingtuts.co.uk/</A> , then went to a club off Sauciehall Street - best thing to do is probably pick up a listing guide for some current info, but I will check for pubs with people at work.

Otherwise make sure you go to the art gallery at Glasgow Uni (includes Christ by Dali), and, as Coyne says, Edinburgh is completely different and just 30 minutes away on the train.
