    Default ATL to England

I hope I am posting to the right thread for some help. I'm a bit stuck on how best to find out the information to make a sensible choice so that we aren't waiting for a seat for days.

We (4 people) hope to fly non-rev to England (prefer MAN or LGW) in mid-july. I know that 4 people is a lot(!), and we are expecting to fly Delta (because we're originating in ATL).

Can anybody advise us on the best chance of getting flights - which days, destinations and/or connecting routes???? We have some flexibility, but probably looking at departure between July 8-15.

    Thanks in advance!

If you'll cut it down to a few flights--I don't check a wks worth of flights for our own family!! Are you flying OAL or as Dl pass or buddy pass?

Hi - thanks for your reply. We will be OAL.

I was thinking probably either July 8th (wed) or July 13th (fri); preferably ATL-MAN. However, I didn't want to ask anybody to check a bunch of specific flights yet.

I was really looking for guidance as to what might be our best bet for a family of 4. Are there any hidden gems of particular days, airports, connections or anything else?

    Thanks!

do you have the ability to split? JFK/MAN is an option but not sure of frequency
I doubt Fri will be good idea--usually Sat is better--you mean Fri 8th and Wed 13th, yes? Be careful--I'm blonde...too much confusion makes my brain smoke...haha

Thanks for taking an interest and don't worry - I'm blonde and so is my wife (hence getting my days wrong).

Yes - I meant Friday 8th (Saturday 9th would be fine too - so I suppose that's preferred if you suggest it would be easier), and Wednesday 13th (which I chose because I always hear that Wednesdays are the lightest volume days). In all honesty, we can go on just about any day if one is typically lighter than others.

Somebody else had suggested that I ticket through JFK to give more options, in that we could get on the direct flight if possible OR route through JFK if the direct flight was overloaded. So yes, we could do that. I was thinking that might be even more useful for the return ...

I had also enquired about ATL-LHR as an alternative as DL have 2 direct flights on MWF, but that route does seem to be oversold more often.

Sorry - too many options I know

If you can fly on BA then hop on the Speedbird direct from ATL - LHR. BA226 looks OK for all 4 of you most of the week you mention.
