Default Hotels in FCO / VCE

I think we're finalizing our routing for June's trip. DFW (air) FCO (train) VCE (air) PRG (air) DFW.

I have a pretty good idea of routes to have back-up passes.

Does anyone have suggestions for hotels in FCO and VCE? Probably looking at staying near Roma Termini if possible.

    look at luxurylink.com both cities
please send me your email via pm and I'll refer you--you get automatic $100 off--most deals are 2-3 nts but great prices. I'll pull 2 Rome properties I saved (Londra Cargill is good location--great neighborhood--walking distance to many sights) Recommend HOHO bus, too.

Be careful around Roma Termini. We were attacked twice within 3 blocks by gypsies, however we were prepared, after landing at FCO we put $$, passports, credit card in neck pouches and money belts and all they got was a ball point pen. I think it was a DL pen..back in the days when DL had log pens.

I recommend this website for Venice - Venice for Visitors - Your 2012 Travel Guide to Venice, Italy
How long are you going to be in Venice?

Thanks everyone. I'll look into your suggestions.

I have a limited amount of time away from work and 7 of those days will be spent in PRG (mission trip), so we'll only have a day in VCE and two in FCO. Not the best amount of time, but we figured we'd rather have the limited time than none.

Surely it offers more than 6 hotels for Rome and 4 for Venice. Was I missing something?

They offer diff properties at diff times. They offer more than 1000 hotels/resorts but they vary by season, etc.
have you checked out tripadvisor for each city? If you want reasonable for VCE, try Ambasciatore (mainland) with local bus to tourist areas. Nice neighborhood w/good food (better than islands!) Good breakfast, too!! Get your food from the grocer/deli type places. That way you know what you're getting for the price.

Oops--I forgot you were doing the mission trip--silly me!! Both hotels are well-priced--ask for airline rates. Concierge at Cargill will likely accommodate you--there are even a few rooms w/little balconies!

We get a pretty good rate from Accor Hotels, and I've always had good service from them. I'll let you guys know how it is when we return!
