    Question Nonreving to LHR...?

So I've heard lots of things about nonreving to LHR... extra fees and taxes. (Airport tax?) Will it cost me buckets of money to go? I'm thinking about going for the weekend to see a friend. Ideas? Advice? Quit while I'm ahead?

I'm a newbie, so all advice is appreciated.

(So, right now, planning on leaving on a Th, returning on a Sun. Loads look great leaving from ATL, MSP, DTW on DL flights - my airline. And $$ looks nice too.)

Flying into LHR is not the expensive part it's getting out of LHR (lots of taes). LGW is a bit cheaper but not by much. FYI everything is expensive in the UK due to the mighty GBP.

I have avoided it for sometime now due to the high taxes, but it is a nice city if you are set on going.

If you ever want to go somewhere in which the taxes will not break the bank, go to Milan or Prague...

Why? I have an opportunity to go next week. Is it going to take all day to get through LHR?

I read the tip to get to LHR early- Any particular reason? Is there a specific counter for SAs? Any info is appreciated.
