All look quite viable IF I had an iphone or data plan. I have an ipad (HATE it!) and Boss has android but if he's not flying, it's rarely out and available. My idea of app is apple brandy--like Normandy calvados! Since we're not driving, much of this is lost for our needs. Hopefully, this thread will help others in the future. I try to do all my "work" before we depart--memory is my app?

If you want a pragmatic ‘get-me-there-then-tell-me-about-it’ app, there are three main English language contenders – Spot On Location’s Normandy D-Day app (£2.99, iTunes store; Google Play before end of May 2014); Brittany Ferries D-Day Guide/Pocket Locations’ D-Day and Normandy (Pocket Locations have a distribution deal with Brittany Ferries for basically the same app; both £0.69, iTunes store); and Metropole Apps’ D Day (£0.69, iTunes store). While they all share some features in common, they all also have unique features.
