In their ongoing effort to prevent bird strikes at AMS a pilot project has been launched to see if pigs can scare birds away from the airport. The test began a couple of weeks ago on a plot of land between two runways - the plot had been used for sugar beets and the residue attracted the birds, SO pigs to the rescue. The pigs will be on site for six weeks, there’s a second “control area" to determine effectiveness.
