Do you have a post office that handles passports? The one down my street does it. You need to have to passport photos made somewhere. The post office has the applications, you fill out the form, take the two passport photos, put them inside the envelope along with your filled out application and fees. Then you have the option to have it expedited for more money of course but you get it within two weeks or so. The slower way takes usually about a month. It depends on the luck of the draw to be honest with you. GO TO THE POST OFFICE.

It is possible to do everything the same day at a passport agency, I have dealt with the one in MIA...it was a major hassle, get there for your appt and realize 50-60 other people have the same appt time...sit and wait, hurry up and wait...and then told to come back in a few hours to wait some more to get the passport...
I would say only pay the fees and deal with the lines if you have too, otherwise just go thru the normal process and get it in a few weeks...
