Well I officially turned in my notice today...

I have accepted a seasonal position with a ramp services company working for Air Canada...that will get me thru the season and give me a chance to get started in school...The airline industry is no longer the career path it used to be so I need to get out while I can and get back into school while my parents are still saying they will help me out...

I will miss my flight benefits for my parents...but they understand this is something I have to do for me...

Well, I am now officially gone...

I started training on Monday for the Air Canada position and so far so good - except I dont like their system QIK-CK...I will only be working 4hrs a day and that is a perfect schedule for nursing school.

I also started a training class to become EKG certified which will allow me the opportunity to work as a Monitor Tech in cardiac units in hospitals and qualify for a generous tuition reimbursement program to make my schooling more affordable...

I will miss Mother Delta, but I doubt I can ever totally leave the aviation industry...when this seasonal position is over with, I am hoping to find another part-time job at the airport...if at that time Delta can promise me a set schedule that works with my schooling I will happily return! I still hate that I had to leave, but not having a set schedule was a detriment to my ability to go to school...

Once aviation gets in your blood, it's there for good.

I am working for a company called ASMO...I feel at a disadvantage because we are unable to get training manuals...I dont understand the whole story but apparently the union representing the trainers wont let any of them come down to train us and wont allow training manuals to be sent to us because we are a contractor and not AC or United...the trainer that came in is a great guy from Trinidad, but without us having manuals he is having to read everything to us and it is taking forever to get thru the material...
