    Default Extra Passport Pages

Hey, gang! I just found out that you can get 3 sets of extra pages inserted into US passports. I thought it was only once--hah--I was just told otherwise by our visa company! YAY!!
Granted, you still have to pay for each set of pages, but much better than getting a new passport every few years. Not a bad deal to keep my visas and my gorgeous photo that shows how "young" I am...

what sucks for me was I still had time left on my Chinese visa but my Passport expired in 7 months, so it didn't make sense to add the pages when I had to fork over $140 in 7 months anyway

I don't know for sure about Chinese visas as I haven't looked, but most visas are valid to their expiration date, even if the passport has expired.

Example, my Brazil visa is valid for 5 years after my passport expires. Once my current passport expires, I can enter Brazil with my new passport and expired passport w/ visa in it.

Avs is right about Brasil--I'd guess China is same but not certain. New Brasil visas can be 10 years now--similar to Argentine and Chilean arrival "tax" (now enforced at land borders and airports, BTW)

Thanks, but this is what they have on the Chinese Embassy website - sounds like more money more money :
    20. I get a new passport, but I have a valid Chinese visa in my old passport. Can I travel with both passports to China without applying for a new visa?
Answer: It is not necessary to travel with two passports. If your passport has expired or is going to expire in 6 months or less, you should apply for a new visa with your new passport.

Hmm, this is interesting. Just checked TIMATIC, the immigration requirements database IATA keeps. Assuming US nationality, I see this line:

VALID VISAS OR RESIDENT PERMITS IN EXPIRED PASSPORTS ARE
ACCEPTED PROVIDED HOLDING VALID PASSPORT OF THE SAME
    NATIONALITY

Maybe the embassy website is a little out of date? I think that this is kept pretty well updated, since outdated info would be a huge liability for the airlines.
