    Default Cosmopolitan hotel LAS

Our airline seems to push for this hotel in Vegas. The Cosmopolitan. Last run to Vegas, they were passing out this advertisement package, with free soap, mints, junk like this promoting Cosmopolitan hotel. They give a nonrev discount of 20 to 30 percent according to our web site. That place will still run you darned close to 200 plus per night. Nothing cheap about this hotel. Has anyone checked them out? We were bouncing internet rates versus the discounted nonrev rates, and figured out that when you go to their web site via company's web site, its higher than going in the regular internet site. It seems like they include the 20-30 percent into the price, and when you call, you end up getting the same as the internet rate with the nonrev discount. I haven't trusted airline discounts for hotels in a long time. Usually I have fared better with AAA discounts.

    Cosmopolitan
    Walkthrough
My two word review - beautiful - expensive
The Chandelier Bar- something to see, beautiful - expensive
Great restaurants- over priced - expensive,
Great pools, the Boulevard pool offers great views of the Strip - snacks/drinks - expensive
Knowing you Palms you want to know about the tables, $25 minimum and I looked.
BTW, just in case you don’t get enough of a beating at the tables, there’s a boxing ring in the fitness center.

I just don't see the justification staying in that kind of luxury when you can get quite nice hotels in Vegas for under 100 bucks. But other people may and do. A great view is great for a while. After a while is up, it looks just like a picture. Can you stare at a picture all day? It's like staring at the beautiful ocean all day while on ships. ALL DAY.....and the next day, you stare at it again. ALL DAY LONG.

I've always figured that (with a few exceptions) if you're staying in your hotel room long enough to justify paying for a really nice place, you're doing it wrong. Spend the money on a bed that will keep you pretty well rested in a reasonably clean room, and beyond that get what's cheap.

And don't forget about that pesky resort fee, at the Cosmopolitan it's $25 a day

Yes! Those little... I probably need to restrain my language here. I'll call them "truckers." Anyway, my favorite hotel in Vegas (Golden Nugget) once advertised that they didn't charge resort fees, but last time I was there they did have a "downtown destination surcharge" - same thing, different name. At least it was under $10, I believe.

Personally, just making it to Vegas, you're doing quite all right. Especially the free flight. I know a couple of guys here, and you may know guys like them too working for the airlines. That insist on buying their once a year VEGAS trip a positive spaced ticket. They don't want the hassle, they don't want to worry about anything. And I understand this. But when I ask if they even bothered to check the flights, like they may be WIDE OPEN?????? Still, they won't budge. They say... " I got the ticket in hand, and going to stay for a week at the Cosmopolitan hotel". 3 nights, 789 bucks. (He got the luxury suite or something.) Hey, dude's got the money, its his vacation.
