Remember, I said NICAD batteries for lime juice. Here is how to clean your CAR batteries from corrosion which is composed of different properties than that of a NICAD. Take a cup or bucket, mix BAKING SODA with water. Say about 3 to 1 or so. Not too heavy but it can't hurt if you overdo it with baking soda. Pull both battery terminals off then, mix it together (Baking soda and water) and just pour it on your battery. I like to take the terminals off the batteries, both positive and negative, pull the battery out, and throw the baking soda with water mixture on the battery rack, because if your battery is corroding at the terminals, chances are some of the corrosion has seaped down into the battery rack. So clean all evidence of corrosion with backing soda, wipe off with towels or rags, and pour clean water to wash away the baking soda that by now, since interacting with the corrosion has created a foamy dirty look. Just wash it or wipe it away. Clean your battery terminals too with baking soda, and then take a brush to clean the part that makes contact to the battery, for a clean connection. (Battery post terminal lug brush cleaners). Then put some kind of protectant on your terminal lugs after you install them. Some grease, or vaseline works too. You can use cola for cleaning corrosion too, or COKE but I prefer baking soda. Coke is sweet, can attract a bunch of ants here in SE Texas. The ones that bite.
