Default NONREVS BEWARE!! NOR'EASTER Impacting Hubs this Weekend!

If you’re planning on traveling to the East Coast this weekend, you may want to think again. With a potentially historic snowstorm barreling toward the Washington D.C. region on Friday and potentially affecting much of the East Coast, U.S. airlines are warning travelers to check websites and social media for flight status updates and schedule changes.
Domestic carriers including AA, UA, DL, WN and B6 are already bracing for the winter weather, offering travel waivers and refunds for customers traveling to, from or through cities affected by the expected upcoming snowstorm.

******BWI, DCA, JFK, BOS, CLT, CVG, IND, EWR, IAD Beware!!***************

I was going to fly to Nice this weekend, but decided not to because of the storm.
If it isn't full flights that get you, the weather will, lol!

I'm guessing you'll be shoveling the driveway instead.

We got the minimum--just an inch or so but 20 miles south, they got plenty more. The Ohio River saved us from getting much. Still need to do the drive but maybe we won't. Good thing Boss dropped his Thu trip--it was picked up in 2 minutes and that was Monday. Apparently, that crew is still in BRU until at least Monday or Tuesday. The nonrev prayer may not help them if they don't live in base.

Good ole Minnesota; We used to get this awful weather in spades - but now due to Global Warming we gift it to folks
    anywhere downwind of El Nino.
Our Halloween blizzard of 1991 didn't thaw out or allow for snow melt down until Memorial Day 1992.
Sadly for folks who are just experiencing this - it is not business as usual !
As for N/R travel it is going to be a battle royal to find a way home or to work.
Finding alternate surface transportation is going to be an effort worthy of Phineas Fogg (Around the World in 80 Days).
Amtrak doesn't go everywhere and will be terribly crowded where it does.
Greyhound and other Bus lines will have to wait till the roads are plowed and cleared.
And if you are thinking of taking a Ferry - with the winds and tidal surges it will be a bad chapter out of 'B' grade Hollywood movie.
The forecast is for things to resume normal mode sometime Monday - only hang up getting rid of all that snow.
But throw it up in the air thinking it will blow away - with the winds it is only going to come back and slap you in the face.
Make snowballs and throw them at any politician promising anything promising !

All in all - God bless and be safe to come back to another day of mayhem.
Everyone brings some happiness by coming and then some by going - I am going - don't throw the snow at me !

Had to change my plans at the last minute as well. Via the warmer MCO to get to Europe. Trying to outsmart mother nature and the non rev god (s). Just two more legs to go

So, just got my seat PTY-MCO. So far so good. MCO - FRA still wide open. Should have gotten a seat assignment when doing on line check in. But maybe automatic stand by acceptance was de-programed to take into account irrops up north. Maybe.......
