If you're connecting on the same airline (i.e. Delta) and your bags are checked thru to your final destination, about 1 1/2 hours should be ok. As mrs767er said, the terminals can be quite a hike from each other but at least you won't have to go thru security. If connecting on different airlines, you will need to wait for car seat/stroller, claim bags, check in and clear security. You will also have to take the airtrain to connect terminals. I've waited over 30 min just to get bags on a domestic flight so 1 hour would not cut it. At the AA terminal, if you arrive at the high gates, it can take 15-20 min to get from gate to bag claim with kids in tow. That said, taking into account that often times the departure door is closed 15 min prior to departure, I would allow at least 2 1/2 - 3 hours for a connection. You could shave off 20 min or so if you have pre check but 615 is a peak travel time. Let me know if you have any other ?s about jfk. Good luck and safe travels!
