I just got back from Ottawa, Canada yesterday. Made it from IAH-CLE-YOW and back the same way. Flights were wide open. Indian summer was the norm for Ottawa, great walking around weather, temperature in the 50's during the day, in 30's at night and morning hours. Started to rain on the last day when I was leaving. STAYED at the Hampton Inn, paid 3.80 for a ride on the public bus from the airport with transfer for two people. Normally, busses run 3.00 per head each way. Guess the INFORMATION counter at the airport cut us a break. Saw MUSEUM OF CIVILISATION at GATINEAU in QUEBEC across the Ottawa river. Saw the PARLIMENT building and RIDEAU CANAL and LOCKS system. Saw JACQUES-CARTIER park with the statue of the GREAT MAURICE RICHARD, or "THE ROCKET". Played with the Montreal Canadiens from 1942-1960. It was just a great wonderful city. Went to the BYWARD market area, had a few beers at the HARD ROCK CAFE, had some polish deli food across the street from the HRC. This is a great kept secret. Great city to visit, flights easy to get to, the lady in the counter said she hardly gets non-rev types in there. They didn't know what to do, how to clear us, and didn't charge us the departure fee because nobody knew what to do. This came in handy because we ended up taking the cab ride back to the airport on the rainy and cold morning of departure. So we basically got a free ride since there was no exit fee to pay....heheheheh.....Got a link with pics fo you...
