Hi Guys,Dropping into Lax for ten nights with the family in the first couple of weeks in July. I have booked the Hotels and I am looking into ALMO car Hire W9. I was just wondering if there are any attractions, theme parks, muesums etc that offer a cut on entry. We will be near Manhattan Beach and Anaheim areas. We will have car and can travel for good deals. I would appreciate any ideas.

Hi Sandy,
With price of gas in the US I'd suggest checking out the Alamo price with rate code RP as well as W9. You'll get a full tank of fuel ( worth USD 50-60 ) with the RP rate plus free additional drivers. To compare ... get up your W9 rate and then specify a full tank of fuel and see how that overall cost compares to the RP rate.

Also if you are renting for more than a week, are using the RP option on the larger vehicles and can fit the change-over into your schedule you might consider making 2 bookings ... renting for one week and the remaining time ... and changing the vehicle after the first week ... in this case you get another free tank of fuel for the second rental ..worth another USD 50-60.

Sneaky Paul, very sneaky....I like it!

Sandy if you and your family real-ly LOVE theme parks, then the best bang for your buck is the Southern Cal Citypass. (5 parks) 2008 Southern Cal CityPass Info
includes:
3 day park hopper pass - Disneyland, Disney California Adventure, (one early entry to Disneyland)
1 day admission to Universal Studios,
1 day admission to Sea World San Diego
1 day admission to San Diego Wild Animal Park OR San Diego Zoo.
Driving time LA to San Diego is about 2, 2 &1/2 hours, so a nice day trip
You can buy the CityPass at Disneyland (main entrance ticket window) any of the theme parks listed, or on-line.
Word to the wise: Don't remove the tickets from the booklet ( a loose ticket, voids the ticket)
If you're interested only in Disneyland, then the multi-day park hopper is your best bet.
BTW, you might see ( Southern Cal residents only) discount tickets in stores-- Don't buy the tickets. Trust me, the parks will ask for a Cali ID.

One of LA's least costly activites (FREE) is seeing a live taping of a TV show. Unfortunately most shows are in hiatus now, however "Price is Right" and Craig Ferguson Late Late show are still taping. The Tonight Show tickets are "wish list only. Free TV tickets
I also recommend The Getty Museum - the museum is FREE, parking $8 (great, great views of the area)

Sandy you might want to read my Los Angleles article, lots of info.

If you have any more questions just drop me a line, and Sandy, don't forget your sunglasses.
