Yes very interesting! I know we can't do that with CX at all, the whole upgrade coupon concept would fly in the face of our service style. We can upgrade our FOC ticket with Asia Miles, but there is nowhere in my town to earn Asia Miles so that doesn't really work.

Not sure how it works or if they will let you, and it seems quite limiting (internal US and Caribbean) but look at the bottom of this page for prices

those rules ares for rev pax
as employees/pass riders, we don't get any option to buy upgrade "coupons" on any zed fares
I don;t understand how you can pay for upgrade as OAL nonrev on DL flights?
