Check out the DOUBLETREE HOTEL on JFK BLVD. They have a shuttle to the airport. There is a hotel right on the airport too where you can ride the train to the terminals down below. It's called the Marriot. Is money a big issue here? Try Holiday Inn and there is Ramada Inn, all offer airport shuttles. There is a La Quinta Inn too nearby. If you're an airline employee, Doubletree offers discounts for the crew, employees. About 50 percent off. Don't know what you want to go shopping for but they have a Exxon on the Run type store you can buy water and junk snacks, sandwiches, energy drinks, beer, beef jerkey type stuff.
Thanks!
As for shopping, my 16 year old son was tagging along and he wanted to shop for clothes =)

For that type of shopping. Around the airport, maybe Deerbrook Mall in Humble. You may ask the van driver of the hotel how it looks for a drop off to the mall there. But a mall is a mall.

Wherever you go, there you are
I mean like there are some malls like GALLERIA area which is more like going downtown but you need a car or cab ride to get there, much more fancier style of clothing, and people come from all over the world to shop in that mall but its very far from the airport area. Around DEERBROOK mall, there is a place called ROSS where they have clothing for both women and men and quite cheap, all sizes.
Hey Amy, how long have you been a CSA at MSP? I was a QSA at MSP last summer, maybe I dropped off some UMs on one of your flights? I'm easy to remember, I was one of the few males in that position, and by far the youngest at 20 years old.
