Default Never Leave The Gate Before Pushback

We all know that one of the basic rules of non-rev travel is: NEVER leave the gate before pushback. Well this short video will tell you why that non-rev rule has stood the test of time. Now this video is from a few years back and Sara is a fast talker, but her tale of woe illustrates perfectly why the "Wait until pushback" rule is golden.

Lol. We need more people like her! I was on a flight to Clt with a creeping mechanical delay that was full with everything including all jumpseats occupied. Barely made it on but as the minutes and hours passed, people got off and we eventually left with many open seats.

I had a flight cancelled because of a mouse. Needless to say the plane was pulled pax rebooked and I went home to bed. I heard later that Mickey decided on a cruise instead.

Have i mentioned that I have talked to way too many Saras in my life? They don't admit that they missed the flight, though, they always say that the gate agent was so mean and wouldn't let them on the plane even though it WAS STILL RIGHT THERE AND THEY COULD SEE IT. I mean, why can't you just open the door so I can get on?
