And another two cents on this subject is, that may be great when as a nonrever, you absolutely have to make it out, you will even ride in the food cart compartment or cargo with all the luggage if you could, but I can see in this scenario, nonrevs listing based on these standing room upright seets so now you got a bunch of nonrevers looking like fools lined up for all to know and see who didn't pay to fly. Not the kind of notariety I'd want. And how about a potable toilet the flight attendants pool out from somewhere so that we can go right in the galley or aisle sections for all to see?

Yea I know the feeling. Seated in first I'd already been given my menu, amenity kit and pre departure drink when it was whispered in my ear that I was to quickly move to coach. Of course the buzz in the cabin was that I had been caught trying to sneak into first class. Talk about notiriety, the rest of the flight I was looked upon as the latest poster child for dumb criminals.

That can be a very LOW feeling indeed. You can outflank the MIG but you cannot outflank an alert FLIGHT ATTENDANT wanting a piece of a nonrev's rear end.

Oh hell, before I 'discovered' the joys of THE MIDDLE SEAT - I would have been happy flying as AVIH -at least that part of the hold is pressurized and heated now!

Actually, after spending a few hours sitting like Tutankhamen (arms wrapped protectively around my breasts to keep them from being elbowed into new and interesting shapes) AVIH or standing wouldn't be so bad!

Far Better to have listed and lost, than to have never have listed at all.

oooh, what about elevated sleeping compartments... of course they'll have to abolish carry-on luggage.

    Almost, as I predicted

    WestJet introduces "sleeper cabins"

"The overhead compartment has traditionally been a place where guests have placed their carry-on baggage. Given that the overhead bins on our fleet are among the most spacious of any ariline, we made the decision to offer sleeper cabins in that space".
"Guests will now have the opportunity to lie down for a period of time and arrive at their destination refreshed, rested and ready to go."

    WestJet news release....note the date.

That would be a huge mistake. I don't see that ever happening, IMHO

Got to say I saw this coming

    [quote]
Money saving tips to help even the most in debt airline fly into profitabilty.

    • Abolish all carry on luggage, instead sell a new class of ticket called "Elevated sleeping compartments."

Replace courtesy shuttles with bikes and skateboards

Replace expensive hydraulic jet bridges with cost effective rope bridges

Instead of giving out tiny bags of pretzels, buy one of those huge bags of pretzels from Sam's Club and pass it back.

Pax who bring their own on board meals are charged a new "setup/napkin fee".

Replace satellite TV and in-flight movies with flight crews' home movies.

Parachute passengers into airports, thereby avoiding costly landing fees.

      and finally
replace expensive company in-flight magazines with magazines "borrowed" from unsuspecting dental offices.

Inspiration provided by the Pittsburgh Tech News

    Hope this brought a smile
