What's your price range? We stayed at the HYATT on DORADO beach which is about some half hour drive on the main highway going west of San Juan. Dorado beach area is pretty pricey and where all the resorts are. You can stay near the airport at ISLA VERDE area, check on line for hotels near there. You can tour the rainforest, check out EL MORRO fort, SAN CRISTOBAL fort, you can check out OLD SAN JUAN, very beautiful. Lots of things to do in Puerto Rico. Rent a car and go around the island.
