Tony, you don't like pickles? I prefer the pickles on the side, whole pickle. I like to eat my sandwich, or burger, followed by a crunchy pickle in between bites. I prefer it that way than on the burger or sandwich itself. So you become an animal when you eat an in and out animal double? Never heard of sweet relish on a burger. Then again, here in Texas, they like to put AVOCADO on burgers, and some sandwiches in the Mexican joints. Jalepeno's too. The Jalepeno gives it a kick, but the Avocado does nothing for me.

    Default Gino's comeback

WOW. I didn't know GINO'S made a comeback in the DC, Baltimore, Philly areas. They used to be a huge franchise of the great hamburgers, and used to sell KFC chicken in there. I thought they were the best burgers bar none. I liked them better than McDonalds and Burger Chef. I am thrilled about this, but unfortunately, I didn't run into any of them this summer when I was up there and you can only get them in the Middle Atlantic states. Who knows, maybe gives me more excuse and reason to go to the area just to hit up on those burgers once again.

Nope, I hate dill pickles on sammiches lol. I do however, love sweet pickles and relish on them.

You also mentioned Johnny Rockets...I worked there while I was in A&P school!! Another excellent burger, much more 5 Guys style than In N Out. Make a trip to somewhere that has an In N Out, you won't be disappointed, methinks!

Tony, I have a feeling that you've been to In-N-Out at least 4 times a week since you moved to SFO :P

I don't know if there is a In-N-Out in SFO. OAK or SJC maybe. But, SFO has a Mel's Drive-in that has fantastic burgers on Lombard. Melsdrive-in.com.

Maybe I'm just too young, but I've never heard of Gino's. The only Geno's I know of is across the street from Pat's in south Philly (Pat's is better, btw).

Anyhow, being as this is right in my back yard, I'll be sure to find a Gino's and try one in the next couple weeks.

Oh yeah, there's an In-N-Out on Fisherman's wharf- always a line, not that I'm getting a burger if I'm down there. I'm eating at Guardino's- a crab sandwich or clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl, very good, so good in fact, you don't mind the long line and the seagulls.
