Sorry I threw out the bag from there--just a few days ago. I'm sure there are others but that one was our "special" palce--they kept prosecco in the cooler. Some kind of blue cheese/parma ham sandwiches, like a thin calzone--hot is the way to go! You just show them how big, they cut and heat in the pizza oven. Sold by weight.

I did the Hotel Tritone over in the Mestre area last time I visited Venice. While not in the actual island and on the mainland it is rioght across the street from the train station which is just a nonstop train ride away from Santa Lucia (the train station in the island). There are also bus links to the island. Rates were good and it was close enough to venice and nearby islands. The train station does get a bit shady after dark with some interesting characters.
In Rome I did the Hilton Rome, while it is a great property it is too far way from the sights. You have to take a shuttle which is complimentary to downtown.

OK, I can now recommend the Sofitel Villa Borghese in Rome. It's a bit off the metro, between Spagna and Barberini. Relatively easy walk to both. Via Veneto is 2 blocks away. Service was good, although we asked twice for an iron and board, and never received it. Turn down service, chocolate on pillows, etc. Hermes bath essentials lol!

If you get a good rate with Accor, go for it!! Otherwise it's a bit pricy for my budget.
