Geez--I totally forgot about the Comair JFK base. Shouldn't be that much of an issue unless the start using more Delta aircraft--it's mostly Comair for now. AT least they get to fly Comair jumpseats! my husband has a terrible time commuting CVG/JFK because of what we call the "plane du jour": we go to be and there are 15 seats on a CR9, wake up and it's now a 50-70 seater!! The most fun is when the first flight out cancels--both JFK and LGA and the day is totally ruined. He has to get lucky for DCA starting at 8am and hope he gets in for his 9pm showtime. So, he gets a hotel room the night before--it gets expensive but that's what it is.
I get your message about the recreational fliers but that's part of commuting, too.
