Hi Paul. I just caught your reply and just wanted to say thanks.
I'll let you know how it goes. Got to get there, of course, and in all honesty my LHR-MIA flights don't look particulary good but I've managed MCO at -47 so it's always difficult to know. With ten years interlining behind me I know that backups are essential travel companions so we may be BOS bound first.
    Thanks again

Hi Paul, (or anyone else that can help)

I'm headed to LAS but on my way back am connecting in ATL to continue to MIA. I'm headed to South Beach for a couple of days for a little R&R before I start the new job.

I'm doing the econo-backpacking-hostel thing that worked pretty well for me last time. The Clay Hotel/Hostel was the pits last time so I've booked The Miami Beach International Travellers Hostel. TripAdvisor reviews were mostly positive.

Anyway, last time I took the "super shuttle" from the airport. I'm just wondering if it would be fairly simple to take public transportation. My hotel confirmation says, "From the airport... take the J bus to 41st Street & Indian Creek transfer to C or K bus to 9th Street and Washington Ave.

I'll check out the public transport website but in the mean time was wondering if anyone had any experience with this. I'll be arriving MIA 5pm 22APR (hopefully... I'm on an s4 buddy pass). I like the adventure of finding my way around and using the public transport but is it worth the hassle and savings? Should I just take the shuttle?

Ok, I'm guessing that no one has experience with this so I've visited the transit site. They have a uility that lets you put in your origin, destination and time and it gives multiple routes. I'm planning on giving it a try so will let y'all know how it goes.

    Chris:
I'm late here but I'm not in for the big adventures like I use to be I really have no experience with the bus except one time from the airport to "Little Havana". I would use the shuttle.
Guess you can let us know how it went.

Thanks Paul. I canceled the MIA trip at the last minute. I'll let you know how that goes after I reschedule... probably not real soon.
